Notes on the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act of 2010 (CISADA)

1) CISADA, as amended heavily amended by the ITRSHRA (TRA) (2012) and Sec. 1245 of the FY 2012 NDAA is one of the six "self-containing," OFAC-administered pieces of Iran-related secondary sanctions legislation.[1]

2) The sanctions imposed by CISADA have a complex relationship with the TRA, ISA, IFCA and FY 2012 NDAA sanctions, as well as with secondary sanctions imposed by various executive orders relying solely on IEEPA for their authority.
