1) This FAQ introduces definitions for "architecture services" and "engineering services" that control the scope of Determination Pursuant to Section 1(a)(ii) of Executive Order 14071 (Effective June 18, 2023). Refer to section IV of General Note on E.O. 14071-Based Prohibitions on the Exportation to Certain Services to Persons Located in Russia (System Ed. Note) for commentary.

2) FAQ amended on 4-12-24 to add a definition for "metals acquisition services" that relates to Determination Pursuant to Section 1(a)(ii) of Executive Order 14071 (Effective April 12, 2024) - Prohibitions on Certain Services for the Acquisition of Aluminum, Copper, or Nickel of Russian Federation Origin. For comments on “Covered metals acquisition services,” refer to section IV(b) of Consolidated Comment on the 4-12-23 Aluminum, Copper, and Nickel-Related Service and Import Prohibitions (System Ed. Note).
