1) Compare FAQ # 1015 (analogous FAQ in the context of the oil import ban in EO 14066).

2) Russia-related General License 17is a not a standard wind-down GL, but refer generally to Examples of Transactions Deemed to Be, and Not to Be, Within the Scope of the Standard “Wind-Down” and “Maintenance” GLs. As noted in the comments to EO 14068, this FAQ has implications for the relationship between the import prohibition and the facilitation prohibition, i.e. as it relates to transactions that facilitate the importation into third countries of covered products.

3) FAQ amended on 3-24-22 to reflect issuance of Russia-related General License 17A (extending the expiration date for the prohibitions related to fish, seafood, and preparations thereof).
